For 140 years, Hunkemöller has been an important part of women’s lives. What started in 1886 as a small, Amsterdam based atelier, founded on a love for craftsmanship and beautifully made lingerie, has grown into an international brand trusted by women across generations. Through decades of design, innovation and expertise, one thing always stayed the same: an understanding that feeling comfortable starts with what you wear closest to your skin. Today, as we celebrate 140 years, we honour this legacy, the craftsmanship and care that shaped Hunkemöller and continue our dedication to helping every woman feel comfortable, supported and undeniably herself.

Behind every Hunkemöller piece is a story of creativity, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each collection begins in-house, where our designers sketch, drape and refine every silhouette with passion and purpose. To bring these ideas to life, we work with specialist lace and embroidery artisans whose expertise has been honed over generations. This dedication is reflected in our Heritage Collection, launching September 2026.
An Ode to Hunkemöller
To celebrate our 140th anniversary, we have partnered with Dutch couture designer Tess van Zalinge to create a unique couture piece inspired by our heritage collection. Titled An Ode to 140 Years of Hunkemöller, the design reinterprets iconic elements from our rich history through Tess’s contemporary and artistic lens. Combining couture craftsmanship with the delicate lace, embroidery and silhouettes that define our brand, the piece honours 140 years of femininity and design. It is a tribute to our past while celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship that continue to shape our future.
